Chacos
The popular sandal brand Chacos invited the public to design the next iconic Chacos sandal strap—featured on a future sandal release for fall 2025. The competition ran for 2 weeks, August 19 - September 1.
I was selected by Chacos as one of six finalists in their design competition. My work was featured on the brand’s Instagram for public voting and ultimately placed fourth. As a finalist I was gifted a pair of the shoes I designed along with the opportunity to design another pair of custom Chacos.

Design
Chaco’s is a brand that is unapologetically themselves. I wanted to create artwork for them which fully encapsulates their unique visual identity. I connected the artwork to nature, whimsy, and fun by using an array of bright, colors and organic shapes which emulate animals and nature.
Social Media
My artwork was used for the Chaco’s social media to help promote the brand as well as showcase small artist’s work. The posts gained thousands of views and reached a variety of people, helping the brand gain followers and interactions.
Art Direction
I conceptualized and directed a photoshoot to showcase my Chaco’s designs for social media. We purposely styled outfits and scouted a location which perfectly captures the bold, bright, and colorful aesthetic of the footwear and made for a unique social media moment.
Bonus Design
As a finalist for their design contest, Chaco’s gave me the opportunity to create another pair of custom sandals. For this second design, I created something a bit more in line with my personal style. I created a seamless plaid and lace pattern inspired by early 2000’s fashion and aesthetics.
